In addition, they’ve done a phenomenal job of branching out into new areas like research and events,” said Ryan Selkis, DCG’s director of growth, adding that in 2015, the innovation arm of a leading financial institution, Citi Ventures sponsored CoinDesk’s conference, Consensus. The acquisition “aligns with with our overall strategy to bring awareness of digital currency and blockchain tech to mainstream consciousness,” said Selkis, who will head up what will become a new DCG subsidiary named CoinDesk.
