The demand is so high that Wall Street firms have been said to offer $250k salary to onboard these techies. To jump on this opportunity, companies have launched blockchain specific training programs with the intention of making good developers become blockchain experts. We shall see how that unravels...
The problem is few technologists have deep experience building systems that use a blockchain. Those who do are in high demand. “There are a couple of Bitcoin developers with four or five years’ experience. But you’re hardly going to find people with more than two or three years of experience,” said Bart Cant, a principal in Capgemini’s financial services practice. “I’ve heard people say there are probably less than 100 true blockchain experts in the world.”
