As Amazon moves further into financial services (it already does over $1bn of lending to its e-commerce businesses), customers of billers on the Paymentus Payment Network will soon be able to manage and pay their utility bills through Alexa devices.
Patrick Gauthier VP, Amazon Pay, says: “By teaming up with Paymentus, we are excited to provide customers and utility billers with a simpler, natural way to manage bills via Alexa.” During a keynote at the Money 20/20 conference in Las Vegas, Gauthier indicated that the feature will be extended to enable users to pay for their bills through voice commands using Amazon Pay.
