My business partner Brooks and I had drinks with one of our investors this evening.. We split the bill using a new NYC built payments app called Cover. It was the first time we had used it and it was the first time the restaurant had used it too.. The surprise and delight from all parties involved when we just walked out of the bar was palpable.. Like Uber (Hailo for my Brit mukkas) no old school CR80 plastic cards or cash changed hands.. I have to say I clapped in delight like a preschooler! Well done Cover..
On the surface, a new dining app called Cover does something simple: It takes care of the bill. No, this is not a case of persuading Siri to be more generous. Rather, if you go to one of the 43 New York restaurants that support the app, and you tell your server that you are paying with Cover, the back and forth that usually accompanies the payment process disappears.
