Chicago fintech got a boost this week with two firms based in the city joining forces. OptionsCity Software, a global provider of electronic trading solutions for professional futures and options traders, has acquired futures trading technology provider Optionshop.

Today, Chicago-based OptionsCity - a platform and software provider for professional traders - has acquired Chicago-based Optionshop - a provider of futures trading technology. The acquisition allows the later to expand its product set, adding new tech capabilities to its diverse suite of powerful trading tools. With Optionshop, OptionsCity gains new brokerage clients and can now extend into new customer markets. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
