There's an interesting corporate counter-narrative to the "traditional" anti-establishment narrative bitcoin propagandists like to tell. Probably much to the latter's chagrin, not only are companies like Visa--and for that matter, MasterCard and Western Union--not "concerned" about bitcoin and comparable protocols, they are eager to adopt them to improve their own customer offerings and business models.
“The one thing I often get asked about is bitcoin. I do see … a separation between the currency and the technology that sits under it. From the point of view of currency, I think that's interesting. As Visa, that's what we do – we manage currencies.”
