San Diego based social enterprise fundraising platform classy has raised $30m in Series C funding led by JMI Equity. As part of the Series C financing, Brian Hersman, General Partner at JMI Equity, will join the company’s board of directors.
The company intends to use the funds to expand its engineering and design teams. Led by Scot Chisholm, CEO and co-founder, Classy provides a fundraising platform for social enterprises. Since launching in 2011, the platform – fundraising suite – which includes crowdfunding, peer-to-peer fundraising, online donations and event management – has supported the raising efforts of more than 2,500 social enterprises including Oxfam, World Food Program USA, and National Geographic. Classy, which employs a staff of over 200 people, intends to invest in four main areas including fundraising automation, recurring donation management, internationalization and strengthen the integration with Salesforce.
