Equifax takes a hit this quarter from its massive data breach

The first signs of how a massive data breach affected Equifax’s business were revealed in the company’s quarterly earnings report. Sales fell short of expectations and earnings fell sharply after the company reported $87.5 million in costs related to the breach.

ATLANTA, Nov. 9, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Equifax Inc. (NYSE: EFX) today announced that the Equifax Board of Directors declared a quarterly dividend of $0.39 per share, payable on December 15, 2017, to shareholders of record as of the close of business on November 24, 2017. Equifax has paid cash dividends for more than 100 consecutive years.
