Startup that helps founders manage stock options doubles valuation to $800m

Bay area based equity management startup has raised $80m Series D funding led by Meritech Capital Partners and Tribe Capital. The post-money valuation on the round is $800m.

With companies staying private longer, Carta said the need for its services is growing. "That said, we also anticipate a large number of IPOs next year, and we hope to support those customers too," it wrote in a blog about its new funding and valuation. Carta has now raised a total of $147.8 million. The latest round was led by Meritech and Tribe Capital. They join existing investors who include Menlo Ventures, Social Capital, Spark Capital, Union Square Ventures and K9 Ventures.
