Goldman bolsters Marcus staff as Britain spearheads consumer bank push

Goldman Sachs plans to expand its retail brand Marcus in Britain this year with more than 65 new staff to a total of headcount of 300.

McDaid said he would consider expanding beyond savings products into current accounts, lending and investment products in Britain – leading to staff numbers increasing “exponentially”. “You need a proposition that makes sense and can reach scale, we hope to start looking into that in the second half of the year,” he said.
