46% of millennials say they prefer to learn about finance on a website, and only 25% would go to an in-person expert. A Gallup study found that only 30% of millennials are engaged with their primary retail bank, compared with 40% of boomers and 51% of the so-called silent generation (those born between 1928 and 1945).
“My parents still go to the bank for transactions and I am pretty sure my mom still has a checkbook, while I haven’t had one in years,” says Ms. Haney. “It’s very interesting how different we are.”
