President Muhammadu Buhari, this week, conferred national honors on CEO of Flutterwave, Olugbenga Agboola and 446 others in Abuja. The Act empowers the President to honor deserving citizens, who have contributed to the development of Nigeria in any field of endeavor. Agboola was conferred with the national honor of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) in recognition of his contribution to fintech growth in Africa.
Even when other businesses were groping in the dark, Flutterwave kept the light on by assisting businesses all over the place to receive payments and arrange deliveries. The company processed more than 80 million transactions, worth $7.5 billion, in 17 African countries in 2020.
