CFPB says student loan servicers may be violating consumer protection laws

The CFPB has been monitoring borrowers’ experience and recently published its findings: long wait times, application processing delays, and inaccurate billing statements.

"The average call wait time to speak with a servicer’s live representative rose from 12 minutes in August to 70 minutes in October."
