Circle, the issuer of the popular USDC stablecoin, has launched its initial public offering, looking to raise about $624m at a $5.65b valuation. The company plans to sell 24m shares of Class A common stock at an expected price range of $24 to $26 apiece. Circle’s USD Coin (USDC) has roughly $62b in circulation, according to CryptoQuant, and its market cap has grown 40% this year.
Last week, Fortune reported that Circle also explored a $5 billion sale instead of going through the IPO route. It was also reported that listed crypto exchange Coinbase (COIN) and payments firm Ripple, which also has its RLUSD stablecoin, were among the suitors.
