Bavaria sets ‘powerful precedent’ with plans to unlock private capital for VC

The Bavarian state parliament passed a resolution on Wednesday to enable public and private foundations to invest up to 5% of their assets into venture capital. This comes after the CDU's coalition agreement published in April, pledging to double the size of Germany’s ‘Win-initiative’, a plan to invest €12bn of public and private capital into the ecosystem by 2030.

“This milestone proves what’s possible when forward-thinking politics and the VC ecosystem work hand in hand toward a stronger future.”
