App55 brings one-click payment technology to the masses. “With Amazon or Paypal, they ultimately want to convert your customers into their customers,” says founder Richard Beaton, “You have to brand up your store with their logos. That’s a flaw in the business model. We want to be the biggest payments company no one’s ever heard of.
A British start-up is hoping to bring the slick payment technology used by the likes of Amazon, Apple and Google to businesses worldwide. App55, founded by Richard Beaton in 2010, is a one-click payments technology service, which bypasses traditional providers such as PayPal. The technology, which can be used by any business taking payments, from crowdfunding platforms to e-commerce sites, even banks, allows consumers to pay with one click, using any credit or debit card from any country, whether browsing sites on their desktops, tablets or smartphones.
