Mr. Jing, also 43, joined Ant in 2009 as chief financial officer before working his way up to chief operations officer and then president in 2015. He played a crucial part of Ant’s large financing rounds and in forging alliances with Thailand’s Ascend Money, of which Ant now has a 20% stake, according to Ant. Last month, he helped lead Ant’s acquisition of EyeVerify, a U.S. mobile identity verification company that is used by dozens of banks for security purposes.
