29yr old Patrick Collison, CEO and co-founder of Stripe, backed up his stance of being a long way from an IPO by noting that “We are not a capital-intensive business, and we don’t need to go public to raise capital,”.

He noted that today only 3% to 4% of global consumption happens online, and that e-commerce is still only 7% to 8% of all consumption in the U.S. and 16% in the U.K., highlighting the company’s potential growth as the transition toward e-commerce continues.
