AXA, the French insurance giant, has set its sights on expanding its finance team’s big data expertise in 2018. AXA, of course, already has 45 "chief data officers" on staff, but none work specifically for the finance group.
The company Tuesday announced it would cut head office costs by as much as 25% — or around €300 million ($354 million) annually — over the next two years and simplify its organizational structure. AXA’s current configuration has too many layers, adding to the complexity, Mr. Harlin said. The changes include eliminating around 300 jobs, he said. “When you have less people, you should improve your efficiency,” Mr. Harlin said.
