Lowell Putnam, CEO of Quovo, was featured on Folio Institutional's Expert Interview series discussing the importance of account aggregation for financial advisors in addressing their client's needs.
Combining horizontal and vertical insights When advisors have a “360-degree view” that comes with account aggregation, they can then harness the power of relationship-deepening horizontal and vertical insights. Putnam likens it to the way one would examine everything on a company’s balance sheet to get a complete picture of their financial health. Horizontal insights can be gleaned from seeing the different “categories” of a client’s financial life, like their retirement accounts or the debt they hold between their credit cards, mortgage, and other loans. Vertical insights are about digging deeper into each of these categories, for example, examining the transactions and holdings in your client’s retirement account, rather than just focusing on a top-line balance number.
