The website of Frankfurt-based cryptocurrency startup Savedroid, which is said to have raised $50m in funding from its recent ICO went down on Wednesday, leaving only a single cryptic South Park meme "aaaandd it's gone". The founder reappeared shortly afterwards in a video to say the digital heist was just a joke! Alphaville has the full story here.
This was not to do any prank; this was not meant to do fun of anyone and play around with trust, but actually we did that to convey a very important, very serious message, which we believe the whole ICO and crypto industry even are concerned with for the future. The vision that we now want to foster in the whole market is: how can we establish high-quality ICO standards in order to have a good future for the ICO market, to be a relevant refinancing tool for innovative and successful and trustworthy start-ups in the future?
