Hundreds of Swedish grocery stores shuttered over ransomware attack on US software firm

MSP-focused software firm Kaseya was the key node in a massive ransomware attack which reached end customers around the world. One notable victim, Swedish grocer COOP, shut down ~800 stores because the attack rendered their cash registers inoperable. Some experts suggest they may take weeks to recover.

"We're not looking at massive critical infrastructure," he said. "That's not our business. We're not running AT&T's network or Verizon's 911 system. Nothing like that," said Fred Voccola, Kaseya's CEO.
