The deal will broaden Capstack's customer base to larger banks and, eventually, to mutual funds. The broader platform also enables big banks to diversify into smaller loan deals, which might include agricultural loans or commercial real estate loans for smaller businesses.
"State regional and large national banks are also in need of diversification, because they typically provide funding to much larger companies," says Cieplinski. "Which means that instead of them being concentrated in a certain geographical location, they're concentrated in a certain size of the company. "
