Interesting statistics from first round of SBA PPP loans

Given the speed at which the initial disbursements were made, the following statistics help understand the magnitude of the coverage and total funding achieved.

The overall average loan size was $206K. Most favored industries included: Construction, Professional/Scientific/Technical Services, Manufacturing, Health Care and Social Assistance. Though the majority of contract and self-employed individuals seeking PPP loans were not included in these calculations. Loan Count: 1,661,367 (accounts for only about 6% of America's small businesses; 74% of these were made for less than $150,000). Net Approved Dollars: $342,277,999,103 (do not reflect the amount required for reimbursement to lenders per statute within CARES Act). Lender Count: 4,975. While the top six states - California, Texas, New York, Florida, Illinois and Pennsylvania - make up only 12% of the U.S. population, they received over 38% of all PPP loan funds.
