The Fintech Collective team congratulates APDS, a digital learning company for incarcerated Americans, for making B Corp's 'Best For The World" list in both the 'Customers' and 'Governance' category.
"APDS is part of the growing movement to reform the criminal justice system in the U.S. APDS provides a digital educational and job training platform to incarcerated individuals to improve their chances of getting a job post-incarceration. They serve primarily a minority and low-income population. The company is active is 17 states and 88 facilities across the U.S, including with the NYC Department of Corrections. APDS mission is to empower and rehabilitate, and not exploit and recriminalize. Unlike competitors who charge inmates high user fees, APDS does not pass any costs to the end users. Rather they provide the tools necessary to compete for and win employment," said Maria Gotsch, CEO at the Partnership Fund for NYC.
