DeFi: Where we are today, and where we go from here
Total equity market cap of banking / fin services globally is ~$20tn. Fintech, which is really just innovation on the front-end, has captured $800b market cap (4% penetration). The top 10 DeFi protocols, which represent a true paradigm shift and a full middle and back-end rewrite of the entire financial system are only at a $31b fully diluted network valuation today (1.5% penetration / market capture).
