Black Friday and Cyber Monday are big in the UK too

Shoppers in the UK spent a record £1.1bn with UK online retailers on Black Friday, with analysts forecasting another £934m in sales for Cyber Monday

Initial estimates show that online spending on Black Friday grew by more than a third, with retailers including Amazon and John Lewis reporting their biggest ever day of trading. Online sales on Black Friday hit £1.1bn, up 36% on last year, according to data company Experian and trade group IMRG, making it the biggest day of online shopping ever and the first time the £1bn mark has been breached.
