If the SEC gives its' green light, Overstock.co could be issuing the first public offering using the blockchain. Although these blockchained backed stocks will only be available to Overstock.com's shareholders, it is another move towards real implementations of the blockchain tech within financial markets.

Overstock.com Announces Historic Blockchain Public Offering
