Santander doubles investment in fintech fund to US$200m

The fintech focused venture arm of Santander Bank, Santander InnoVentures, will be putting another $100m into the fund.  This places the total investable capital in the fund to $200m since it's launch in 2014. The fund is currently based in London, and according to managing partner of the fund, Mariano Belinky, he believes London based startups won't be leaving the UK so quickly post - Brexit and it will continue to remain a dominant fintech hub.

Managing partner Mariano Belinky said the fund will expand its reach into new geographies, such as Latin America, and look at more emerging themes, such as artificial intelligence and cognitive computing, such as how machines predict customer behaviour.
