The pickleball craze won’t decimate big insurers

UnitedHealth signals insurers can weather the increase in procedures for more-active seniors. They posted better-than-expected earnings and raised the bottom end of its outlook for the rest of the year, despite higher medical costs related to an increase in procedures among seniors.

“Our headline would be that UnitedHealth continues to find ways to win, even if it’s not pretty,” wrote John Ransom, an analyst at Raymond James.
